Chris Viehbacher has been acknowledged as Europe’s best CEO for 2013 by Thomson Reuters Extel Survey – a yearly list made up by votes from more than 2,200 assets managers and 2,500 analysts from 250 European investment banks.
In 2008 he was appointed CEO at Sanofi, a leading healthcare developer, researcher, manufacturer and marketer with sales soaring over €35 billion in 2012. The company is now present in 100 countries with more than 110,000 employees to its name.
Having graduated at Queens University in Ontario, Canada, Viehbacher has dedicated his life to public health – recognised by the French Government in 2003 and made a knight of the French Legion of Honour. He was elected President of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations in June 2013 for a period of two years.
